How we check facts

Where facts come from

1. Starlink’s own words first: the US order lists that starlink.com’s order pages load, help center articles, the referral terms, the terms of service and the spec sheets. Pages cite them with short labels and the read date.
2. Dated press, only where Starlink is silent: price history and store prices. These are marked “secondary”, named in the sentence (“DishyTech reported …”), and dated.
3. Our reading or our arithmetic: anything Starlink doesn’t state outright (how leftover credit carries over, year-one totals, GB-per-day rules of thumb) is labeled “our reading”, “our arithmetic” or “our rule of thumb”.

Where no source says something, the page says Starlink doesn’t publish it, instead of guessing.

Dates and re-checks

Each fact carries a read date. Any current fact past 30 days blocks the build, so facts get re-read before every update. The latest full re-read was Nov 4, 2026. A page header shows the oldest read date among the facts on that page.

How Starlink’s pages are read

Reads use an ordinary browser identity, one request at a time: no login, no address entered, no checkout, no order created, and no referral code sent while researching.

Money and independence

The site earns Starlink’s referral reward on qualifying orders placed through its link. No number on the site changes because of that, and pages that carry the link also list who shouldn’t order. How the site is paid.

Mistakes

Errors are fixed and logged on the corrections log. Larger content changes go in the changelog.
